National Coding Week is an initiative launched in 2014 with the aim of inspiring people of all ages to learn and embrace coding skills in today’s digital world. With this year’s event taking place on the 16^th-22^nd September, there’s no better time to invest in your own development and undertake East Sussex College Groups’s cost-free Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Coding.

Why enrol:

• Expand your skill set: Focusing on an introduction to coding within the digital sector, five key units will teach you:

1. What coding languages are available, the software development lifecycle, and key skills of a coding professional
2. Basic computer terminology in relation to coding, such as Central Processing Unit (CPU) and Random-Access Memory (RAM)
3. The advantages and disadvantages of different types of coding and use of pure functions
4. Best practice in coding, methods of testing used, and DevOps processes
5. The importance of project management and communication for those working in a coding environment.

• Study flexibly for free: With an estimated completion time of 12 weeks, the course is fully online and designed to be self-paced. You will have an experienced assessor on hand to help you with any questions you might have and can flexibly schedule your study at a time that suits you. And the best part is, it’s completely free, meaning there’s no financial barrier to improving your skills.

• Enhance your professional profile: In today’s digital age, coding is the foundation of countless technologies and industries. Upon successful completion of the course, you will gain a fully accredited Level 2 certificate by NCFE CACHE, enhancing your CV and career prospects. A qualification in this area can support progression into further study in coding or other topics within the digital sector.
